Formatting USB Pen Drive Quickly – Different Ways to Try Out

Do you know USB Pend drives are more sensitive than any other drives? Pen drives are mostly used drives and it is carried often anywhere because of its compactness and storage facility. Obviously, the features of the pen drive make us victims to viruses and other malwares when it is used or plugged in third party computers. The viruses are transferred easily to your USB Drive and change your settings by corrupting your files. Sometimes we try deleting the files in the USB pen drive but it’s actually not removing your virus completely.

So what is the best way to format your USB Pen Drives? Actually there are many ways available to format the pen drive but sometimes all the possible don’t give expected results. So, I suggest you to try any of the following ways to get formatted –

Right Click the USB Pen Drive and Select Format

Actually, this first type of formatting I learned while I am studying in the College where the time I used pen drives often.

Here are the Steps –

• Right Click the USB Pen Drive in the “My Computer” Section and then Select Format

• A new window will appear with the “Format Options” Don’t change any setting and select the “Quick Format” option and then “Select” to formatting
• A message window will appear giving a warning “Formatting will erase all data on this disk”.
• Just Click “Ok”. Your formatting is done

Format USB Pen Drive using Computer Management

If you are not able to format the pen drive using the above then you can try formatting using Computer Management. Follow the below tools to format your Pen Drive

• Open the Control Panel from the Start Menu
• Select Administrative Tools, and then select Computer Management from the options
• Select Disk Management from the list “Storage”

• Right click on the drive letter corresponding to the USB drive and select Format
• Just confirm and your formatting will be done

Format USB Flash Drive Using Command Prompt

There is another most effective option available to format your USB Pen Drive, in case if you failed using the above ways

• Click Start and go to Run. A window will appear.
• Type “cmd” and click OK.
• Let’s assume the letter of the USB flash drive is G. Before entering the below command you have to make sure your drive letter.
• Kindly enter this command “format /q /x G:” and then press Enter.
